Visa related General Information
All Italian and foreign nationals, including children,
require visas to enter India.
Processing of visa applications for Italian nationals may take 8 - 10 working days and for non-Italians may take 8 - 10 working days. The non Italians will have to submit an additional FAX form and an additional fax charges for making a reference to the Indian mission in their country of residence.
The visas are issued for different periods of duration and are effective from the date of issue.
Visitors to restricted/protected areas need special permits and for this purpose an additional form is to be submitted. It can be ascertained from the Consulate General of India, Milano whether the places intended to be visited fall in the category of restricted/protected areas.
Each visa application is considered on its merit and the Consulate may ask for additional information at any stage during the processing of the application. The fact that an application has been accepted does not guarantee that the visa will be granted.
Visa fees, fees for Indian Visa Outsourcing Centre and any other than normal fees collected are non-refundable even if visa is declined. The Consulate General of India reserves the right of deciding the duration of visa irrespective of the fees tendered at the time of making application.
Applicants are advised not to finalise travel arrangements to India before obtaining an appropriate visa for India.
All Visa fees and other charges, once received will not be refunded, even if the application is withdrawn or the service is refused.
